Where Your Puppy’s
Story Begins

Transparency You Can Feel Good About

Established in 2016, we have provided companions that are family raised with a process that is informative and transparent.

Leave behind the questions of where your puppy lived and how it was raised.  You are welcome to visit our home and see how we loved and care for our parents and each of our
puppies.

Meet The Schrocks

Frame 5

Our story is unique.  Lowell began the program in 2016 with his partner David, and it grew to the current operation size over the last decade.  There has always been a large space in both David and Lowell’s heart for Animals,  and in the first four years, that turned in to a program called Pleasant Acre Farms.

We have been dedicated to raising  Goldendoodle and Bernedoodle puppies that are well socialized, healthy and ready to bring joy and companionship to your home.

Meanwhile,  in 2020, Lowell met Melissa, and a new chapter was formed.  They got married in 2021, and began a journey towards working together for Africa (specifically Kenya and Uganda), where Melissa had been for the last 10 plus years leading up to 2020.

The work that Melissa had been doing involved helping people in need, specifically farmers and people with limited resources.   She spent many years teaching them how to use what they have, to live sustainably, and live in abundance.

This has slowly become the mission for the (whole) Schrock family and they have begun to plan a full time engagement with the Reckoning International (the Parent NGO company that Melissa works for) for the indefinite future.  This will require raising the funds needed to do the work, as all pay is raised by the individuals working for The Reckoning.

The dogs (or Pleasant Acre Farms) continue to be a part of this Journey as they provide the much needed income for the Schrock family to work for The Reckoning International. They are making it possible for them to travel back and forth, training the staff on the ground in Africa and growing the program here in  America as well.

The dogs are a blessing to the path forward, and we want you to know that you are not only buying a companion for life, but when you trust us to provide you a healthy new puppy, you are also contributing to the work in Africa, and blessing our friends and extended family there!

Pleasant Acre Farms
Puppy Curriculum

1. Early Development & Training

We begin Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) when puppies are just 3 days old and continue through day 16. As they grow, we introduce sound stimulation and new surfaces to help them explore their senses with confidence. Around 2 weeks old, their eyes open and they begin to wobble, stand, and take their first steps.

2. Crate Introduction

At about 5 weeks old, we introduce open crates. We gently begin crate naps so they learn that the crate is a safe and comfortable space.

3. Health checks

In Week 6, every puppy receives a full nose-to-tail health inspection. We are completely open about anything found during this check. Your peace of mind matters to us.

4. Temperment Assessments

From Week 6 to Week 8, we closely observe each puppy’s personality. You’ll receive guidance and feedback to help you choose the companion that fits your home and lifestyle best.

5. Staying Connected

We love sharing updates on social media so you can follow their journey. If you’re on our waitlist, you’ll receive special photos and videos as the litter grows. After 6 weeks, we offer FaceTime calls and are happy to answer your questions to help you feel confident in your decision.

6. Going Home Day

Most puppies are ready for their new homes at 8 weeks old.
You are welcome to pick up your puppy, or we can arrange delivery.

Your puppy’s health and well-being are our top priority.

Our Pleasant Acre Farms Puppy Curriculum

As we raise the puppy that will become your new companion for life, We have a few layers of attention to detail that we provide.

We provide early Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) exercises,  from 3 days old until they are 16 days old. We then continue with sound stimulation training and new surface introductions as they begin to explore all their senses.  Around 2 weeks old, they begin to open their eyes and start to wobble and walk around.

We start introducing  open crates as early as 5  weeks of age and start allowing naps in crates.

All puppies are given a thorough health inspection that covers nose to tail in Week 6 and we are fully transparent about any conditions that are discovered upon completion of the health check.

From week 6 until week 8, we pay extra attention to them and give you an assessment on their temperaments to allow you to best choose your companion that suits your lifestyle.

We love to keep folks updated on our puppies  progress through social media and if you are on our waitlist, we will send you special videos and pictures of the litter as they are growing.

We offer facetime after the puppies are 6 weeks old and  we also will give you feedback on the concerns and questions you may have regarding the best fit for you and your setting.

Typically our puppies are ready for their new homes at eight weeks old and we welcome you to pick up your puppy or we can have your puppy delivered to you.

If your puppy will have a social media or if you post lots of pics on platforms that we can follow along, we will!  The satisfaction of a happy and healthy puppy living its best life in its new homes is well worth the time spent to help you find your perfect companion!

Your referral of us to your friends is the testament of our commitment to excellence in our program and reward to us as a breeder when we receive their phone call or puppy application!
